Has anyone added any sensors or other devices to their GalaxyRVR? As far as I can tell pins A0, A1, and A2 look like they might be pulled out to the shield. There doesn’t seem to be much in the way of expansion possible. That said, has anyone swapped the UNO for a MEGA instead so that the additional pins are available?

Yes, the UNO pins A0, A1, and A2 are extended to the Mars rover expansion board. The interfaces on the Mars rover expansion board are mostly occupied, so it’s not convenient to add other sensors. We haven’t tried replacing the UNO with a MEGA.

I want to add an external antenna for extra range using AP mode is this possible?

Maybe something like this…

It is theoretically possible to add an external antenna to the ESP32-CAM to extend the Wi-Fi range.
For more information on how to add it, we recommend that you go to the web site and look for options, or you can try asking GPT.

It’s “theoretically” possible, but “practically” not. Unless you have fantastic eyes and soldering skills. It’s probably better to just replace the ESP32-CAM with one that already has the antenna resistor in place.

I’m only saying this from experience because I’ve melted too many CAM boards trying to move the resistor and finally just gave up. (I run these in a few camera-enabled devices around the house that are just on the edge of WiFi range, so I need the antenna.)

Hi, in this topic I wondering if is possible to add sensors using I2C bus. I noticed that A4 and A5 (PC4, PC5) are connected to the hat, my question is if is possible to access they in any way. Are they used in the GalaxyRVR functionality?
