# No sound output from the speaker on the Robot HAT

I recently assembled the PiDog kit, but the speaker has never produced any sound from the beginning.

Following other posts in this forum, I tried playing some sample audio files multiple times. I also installed `mplayer` and attempted to play the samples with it. Unfortunately, there was still no sound output.

To further investigate, I tried to check the speaker connection on the Robot HAT. However, I accidentally damaged the connector while attempting to unplug it (see attached image).

I then tested the speaker alone by connecting it to another audio source, and it worked — sound was produced.

Next, I soldered the speaker wires directly to the board (without using the connector) and tried playing the sample audio again, but still, no sound came out.

I would appreciate any advice or help. Thank you in advance.

**Important Notes:**

When connecting/disconnecting cables, please handle them gently to avoid damaging the port.  
Run the following commands to reinstall `i2samp.sh`:

cd ~/pidog  
sudo bash i2samp.sh

My first post so forgive if not so great. My PiDog is not sounding. Speaker coil is open. Sunfounder Chat told me to find a different speaker but bad fit and still no sound. Help?
