When used in the PCIe-slot on the Pironman 5 NVME PIP board my SSD Patriot P310 240GB gets a corrupted filesystem. With the command lsblk it looks like the space on nme0n1 is 0B. Therefor it is not possible to copy the contents of the SD-card to the SSD.
When I place the SSD in an USB-dockingstation I can copy the SD-card to the SSD and after that boot the system with the SSD in the dockingstation in which it succeeds.
Placing the SSD on the PIP again corrupts the SSD in the same way.

The Patriot P310 SSD is not in our compitable nvme ssd table, but judging by its parameters, it should be supported. Do you have any other SSDs that can be used to test if the PIP board is working properly? If it’s a hardware issue you can contact our customer service email [service@sunfounder.com](mailto:service@sunfounder.com)

When I used an unofficial, not from Raspberry Pi, power supply, My SSD was corrupted more than once. Using the official power supply solved that problem.

I have bought a new SSD from the list of compatible SSD’s : Netac NV3000 NVMe SSD 250GB and now everything works good, so the problem is solved.
So the Patriot SSD seems to be not compatible.

Sparky what is the specification of the unofficial power supply you are using? Please let us know in detail or provide pictures.
SSD Multiple damage? Is the SSD unbootable, or what is the problem? If it was unbootable, and then after replacing the official power supply, it booted normally, it means the unofficial power supply may not be outputting enough power to provide sufficient power to the pironman5 with the SSD, so the SSD is not booting normally.

I only used the unofficial, (non Raspberry Pi ) supplies while awaiting delivery of the official one. The unofficial supplies provided 5A at 5 VDC and were not USB PD supplies. There was no permanent damage to my SSD, only the file system was corrupted when the Raspberry Pi 5 shutdown due to inadequate power.

So it is recommended that you use an official power adapter to power the pironman5 case.
