Pironman v2 LCD screen not functioning

Hi, I believe we may have a malfunctioning LCD screen. we installed Pironman v2 and as expected gained RGB and FAN functions however the LCD does not function.

We installed Raspberry Pi OS 32bit per the V2 tutorial.

We ran:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install git -y
sudo apt-get install python3 python3-pip python3-setuptools -y

followed by:
cd ~
git clone GitHub - sunfounder/pironman -b v2.0
cd ~/pironman
sudo python3 install.py

As expected we gained access to RGB and FAN configuration functions and they work perfectly, however, the LCD does not function.

We have tried all of the following LCD configurations:
sudo pironman -al on
sudo pironman -al off
sudo pironman -s 60
short press power button

We have also re-seated the LCD cable to the pironman motherboard.

none of this has worked and nothing turns on the LCD screen.

Any advice or assistance?

Can I get a replacement LCD screen (and purchase an addition LED Fan?)

  1. Suggest you unplug the OLED screen again, then start pironman and execute the command sudo pironman -al on to start the OLED screen. See the result.
  2. Please provide logs to us so that we can analyze and solve the problem. (log path /opt/pironman/log)
    If it is confirmed that the OLED screen is damaged, we will arrange to send you a new OLED screen.
    If you would like to purchase an additional LED fan, we will arrange to ship it to you after confirming the OLED screen problem.

Thank you for the suggestion. We completed the task as requested, but the screen still does not come on, it is still black, and not on.

attached is the entire pironman log file from the first boot, and a link to an image of the front of the pironman showing the screen is black with sudo pironman -al on set.

From your logs, it looks like the OLED has reported errors and also recognized successfully.
Did your OLED screen not work from the beginning, or did it work for a while and then not work?
After you installed the pironman software and rebooted, did you run the sudo pironman -al on command and the OLED screen wouldn’t light up?
Normally, if the OLED screen is damaged, the logs will report errors like:

The OLED screen failed to be recognized. However, your later log entries recognize the OLED screen normally again, which is a bit strange.

  1. Unplug and unplug the OLED screen repeatedly.
  2. Start pironman and execute the command sudo pironman -al on to check the working result of the OLED screen.
  3. Please make sure if you have changed any files.

We have done as instructed and have further information. Attached is a Gyazo photo link of errors that occur upon Raspbian boot, there are two different sets of errors that appear before the os booting which relate to Pironman.

Also please note we have added an M.2 SATA SSD according to specs and while the SSD tests perfectly in other machines when installed on the Pironman board and mounted to SDA2, it connects and disconnects multiple times once the OS is booted and it eventually fails and is no longer mounted. I noted the socket for the SSD is directly opposite of the LCD socket on the Piroman board, and am beginning to think the issue may be with the Pironman board itself and not the LCD. Attached is the log for Piroman as of its last boot.

  2. What you mean is that when the pironman motherboard is connected to the SSD, the SSD is recognized with repeated disconnections and reconnections right?
    Instead of the supplied USB bridge, you can use a Type-C cable to connect the SSD to the Raspberry Pi USB3.0 port to see if the SSD can be recognized normally without repeated disconnections.

We Have fixed the problem. Please read as action is still requested.

I ordered a second Pironman so that I could test the theory of the mainboard and LCD screens. We replaced the old main Pironman board with the new main Pironman board and SUCCESS. Everything worked as expected. I then attached the old LCD screen to the new main Pironman board, and it also worked perfectly. The SSD on the new main Pironman board is stable and does not unmount. Success! Perfect! - So through all this, I have determined that is it the old main Pironman board that was the original problem. Can I get a replacement? Happy to send the dysfunctional main board back to you as well.
