Issue after installing LCD screen driver with Pironman 5 Max

Please install the Pironman5 software and LCD driver in the order specified in our tutorial. If you have upgraded your system, please install our Pironman5 software first, and then install the LCD driver, so that the touchscreen can properly access the system desktop.

Where do I find the tutorial?

With respect, it seems like a mystery to find directions.

The screen ONLY works with x11, and Raspberry pi connect only works with Wayland?

After you install the new system, do not execute the update command to update the system.

After reinstalling the new system, directly install our Pironman5 software:
cd ~
git clone -b max GitHub - sunfounder/pironman5: Code for Raspberry Pi 5 case (Pironman5) --depth 1
cd ~/pironman5
sudo python3 install.py
Once the software installation is complete, install the LCD driver:
sudo rm -rf LCD-show
git clone GitHub - sunfounder/LCD-show: 2.4" 2.8"3.2" 3.5" 5.0" 7.0" TFT LCD driver for the Raspberry PI 3B+/A/A+/B/B+/PI2/ PI3/ZERO/ZERO W
chmod -R 755 LCD-show
cd LCD-show/
sudo ./LCD35-show
After restarting the system, the 3.5 LCD screen should be able to enter the system desktop normally, without receiving login prompts or invalid password issues.

I followed the above.
On the second attempt, after the last command sudo ./LCD35-show/ – it installed a bunch of stuff and rebooted. When it rebooted to the CLI and I typed startx, it went to a different GUI. I cannot seem to be able to find my way back to the Rasp Pi GUI I was using. Suggestions?

After reinstalling the Raspberry Pi system, it is recommended not to execute commands to update or upgrade the system; instead, directly install the touch screen driver. The 3.5-inch touch screen can display the system desktop correctly. Did you run the command to update the system before installing the driver and the pironman5 software?

Yes, I might have done that. Can a upgrade be run ever?

If you need to install the 3.5 touchscreen driver, it is recommended not to upgrade the system. If you upgrade the system and then install the driver, the touchscreen will not be able to enter the system desktop properly.

Wow, the fact that the PI cannot output both HDMI and 3,5” at the same time and that you cannot update the OS, renders the screen useless, really.

Absolutely agree! I met this problem as well. but this situation does not occur on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

More like 10 hours and 3 or 4 installations. The instructions I followed were: MHS35IPS not MHS35?

Some times I had a correct screen, but the cursor would only work with use of a mouse.

Last time I got this message: Need to update touch configuration.

Why use a system that you can’t upgrade?

I really wish I hadn’t purchase the Pironman 5 system.

First time back with Raspberry Pi after about 5 years and I don’t see much improvement.
