Connecting to Dell XPS 17 Windows 11, plugging into micro-usb through a docking station J5Create, Pico W appears briefly in my devices but then quickly disappears. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is literally step one

Does your laptop have a USB port? Try connecting the computer to the pico directly without using the docking station to see if it can be recognized normally.
Try changing the USB data cable to see if it can be recognized normally?
