Using RPI-5 4g flashed with latest AI fusion image. The Pi booted and worked before adding the Hat. Initially the Hat powered-on and charged, the LEDs indicating the charge was complete. After connecting the camera assembly, and some power-on/off cycles, the Hat fails to power-on or boot, no LEDs when connected to power and powered-on. The Pi alone continues to boot when disconnected from the Hat. Please help thank you
Based on the symptoms you described:
-
The Raspberry Pi 5 works fine when used alone
-
It cannot power on when the Fusion HAT is connected
-
The LED indicators on the Fusion HAT do not light up at all
This suggests that the Raspberry Pi itself is likely working normally, but there appears to be a power issue or short circuit on the Fusion HAT side.
Please completely remove the Fusion HAT from the Raspberry Pi first, and then perform the following tests separately:
1. Connect only the battery and press the power button on the Fusion HAT
Observe:
-
Does the green power LED light up?
-
Do the yellow battery level LEDs light up?
2. Power the Fusion HAT alone using a Type-C cable
Observe:
-
Does the charging LED light up?
-
Do the battery level LEDs display normally?
Also, please send us:
-
A photo of the board
-
Photos showing the LED status
-
Or a short video of the power-on test, please pload the video to Google Drive or OneDrive and share the link.
This will help us analyze the issue further.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Thank you. I followed your suggested steps and still no power-on. Apparently limited to 1 photo attached which shows Hat only after attempted power-on connected to batt. Couple additional details:
-
Using the kit as part of the McWhorter tutorial, includes THRML Fan
-
Battery multimeter test on it’s own shows > 7v
