[Brightness Issue] New RM101_V3.0 Panel is Much Dimmer Than Older Version (Photos Attached)

Hi,

I recently purchased a new 10.1" touchscreen from SunFounder and noticed that the display brightness is significantly lower than a previous unit.

To help illustrate the issue, I attached comparison photos:

  • Panel A (left) is from a previous purchase (dated 2022.11.13) and shows much higher brightness.
  • Panel B (right) is from a recently purchased unit. Both use the RM101_V3.0 board, but B appears much dimmer even at max settings.

I’ve tested:

  • Gamma (1.8, 2.0, 2.2) – 1.8 is brightest, but still dim.
  • Backlight and Brightness – already set to maximum.
  • Ultra Vivid mode – enabled, still dim.
  • 12V 5A power supply – verified and stable.

No changes in device or software between the two panels – only the panel seems different in brightness, despite using the same board version.

Questions:

  • Is the reduced brightness a known issue with recent RM101_V3.0 units?
  • Is there any way (firmware, hidden menu, hardware adjustment) to increase the brightness?

This is not a brightness issue.
It’s related to different backlight batches in production.
Earlier purchased touchscreens use cool-toned backlighting (appearing brighter)
Later purchased touchscreens use warm-toned backlighting (appearing slightly dimmer)
This is not a quality defect - simply a variation between production batches.
