Can't connect to wifi on EzBlock for my Picrawler

Hi, I’m using a PiCrawler with a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W and the EZBlock pre-installed image.

Bluetooth works correctly: EZBlock Studio sees the crawler and connects to it. The problem is the Wi-Fi Quick Configuration. It keeps loading, then says the Wi-Fi connection failed.

I’m using iPadOS/iOS. The iPad is connected to the same Wi-Fi I’m entering in EZBlock. I’ve also tried a 2.4 GHz iPhone hotspot with a simple SSID/password, but the Wi-Fi setup still fails.

I flashed the EZBlock image using Raspberry Pi Imager 1.9.6. I previously used normal Raspberry Pi OS on the same PiCrawler and Wi-Fi/SSH worked fine, so the Pi’s Wi-Fi hardware appears to be working.

One possible issue is that my normal Wi-Fi SSID is SpectrumSetup-10. I saw other forum posts saying EZBlock may have trouble with special characters in SSIDs. Does the hyphen - cause problems?

Also, during the Wi-Fi setup, EZBlock sometimes repeatedly triggers Bluetooth pairing requests.

Is there a known Wi-Fi provisioning issue with the current EZBlock image on Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W? Is there a recommended image version, or a supported way to preconfigure Wi-Fi/SSH so the app can skip Quick Configuration?

Thanks for your detailed troubleshooting. Please try the following again:

Please allow EzBlock Studio to use Location Services, and make sure both Bluetooth and Local Network permissions are enabled, then try provisioning again.
If it still fails, please try installing EzBlock Studio on another phone or tablet to check whether the issue is related to your current iPad or iPadOS.
Also, please temporarily use a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi name and password containing only English letters and numbers, as a hyphen “-” in the SSID may also cause provisioning to fail.
