Compatible SSDs

Anyone know whether the Western Digital WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe™ SSD is completely compatible with the Pironman5? If not, does anyone have suggestions for excellent 1 TB alternatives? Thank you.

Our tutorial has information on compatible SSDs that you can refer to. You can check the tutorial link for more details:Compitable NVMe SSD — SunFounder Pironman documentation

Hi there, that list of SSD’s for the Pi5/Pironman 5 is very handy. Thanks.

Is there a similar list for the SATA III SSD’s (good and bad) for the Pi4B/Pironman 4?

Thanks

There is no list of pros and cons for the SATA III SSD used in the Pironman.

I’m not sure if the 8TB NVMe drives were out there during the times of these posts. I’m looking at the WD BLACK 8TB SN850X to really maximize the space for my Plex server on my Pi 5. Pretty please, tell me this would be supported now?

Maybe the WD BLACK 8TB SN850X you are talking about is not compatible with pironman5, we suggest you to check our SSD recommendation list and choose the right SSD for you, high capacity SSDs are theoretically compatible.

Cool, thank you. BTW, y’all might want to add the Samsung 990 Pro to the list since you have it depicted on your product page.
