NVME Pironman 5 Compatibility

Hi,

I am looking at the compatability list for NVME M2 2280 and Pironman 5 and it appears there is some confilicting information.

The Crucial P3 Plus uses the Phison controller which is listed as compatible but the incompatibility list says to stay away from Phiscon controller SSDs M2.

Will the Crucial P3 Plus 4tb Gen3 (Phison controller) work with the Pironman 5 case and power on without soldering?

Also, if the Crucial P3 Plus is not compatible then will the Samsung 990 Pro 4tb or WD 850x 2tb or 4tb work since neither of these use the Phison controller?

Compatibility Notice:

Crucial P3 Plus

Samsung 990 Pro

Incompatible SSD:

WD 850x

Simply follow our standard assembly tutorial

I’m using a Samsung 990 Evo 2 TB in my Pironman 5 with no issues. I originally tried one of the Crucial SSDs with a Phison controller but it was not recognized by the Ironman. I eneded up swapping it with one of the SSDs in my PC and problem solved.

Based on feedback from other users, the Pi 5 does support the Crucial P3 Plus.
