Loss of PiDog pi5 from the WiFi home network

re: PiDog v"2

Hi, I have been connecting into my pidog (part built) via SSH successfully.

Today after powering up the pi5 is no longer visible on the WiFi network !!

Before I remove the microSD card and reconfigure everything, have you come across this problem before and have you a solution ?

Can you clarify what you mean by no longer visible on wifi? Do you mean on your router config page?

Or that your ssh ip address is no longer valid? I.e you’ve maybe used an absolute ip address but not made it static in your router ?

Depending on OS, you should be able to plug your sd card into your pc and navigate to the wifi setting file and check whats going on

If you can give more details such as OS and exact error messages, that would significantly ease remote debug possibility

There can sometimes be compatibility issues between the 5GHz WiFi band and the Raspberry Pi 5. In certain cases, the Raspberry Pi 5 may not be able to detect or reliably connect to 5GHz networks.

To ensure a stable and reliable connection, we recommend that you configure and connect to a 2.4GHz WiFi network instead.

By “no longer visible” I mean I cannot connect with SSH using the previous IP address or the domain name. I have also checked on my router and it is not on the local network (WiFi).

It a pi5 running Debian 12 (bookworm).

I have loaded the microSD card into another pi5 (desktop) with USB card reader to check the WiFi settings but because of lack of knowledge cannot actually find the file with the WiFi settings !!

The router WiFi network is both 2.4GHz & 5GHz

We recommend connecting a monitor to your Raspberry Pi and then manually connecting to your Wi-Fi network directly through the system’s graphical interface.

Please try this method and let us know the result.
