Just built the PiDog. Great project, all functions work so far. I notice that connectivity is an issue. VNC periodically freezes. I have a strong signal MESH network (Ubiquity). I built the project with a Pi 4 (8 Gb RAM). Is there a way to add a wifi antenna? Should I be connecting with terminal only?
We suggest you provide the problem picture or video for us to see, so that we can help you to analyze and solve the problem.
If you can’t connect pidog via VNC.
- Please make sure the network of your pidog is normal.
- Please input the correct IP of your pidog.
- The connecting end (PC computer) and the connected end (pidog) are in the same LAN.
- Please make sure the VNC service of the system is enabled.
Please run sudo raspi-config to enable VNC service, and then connect. - The Raspberry Pi system you are using must be the version with desktop in order to use VNC connection.
Thanks for replying. As I mentioned, VNC periodically freezes. I’m sorry I wasn’t more explicit in saying that it generally works normally but periodically freezes.
VNC freezes periodically, and it’s not easy to tell what problem is causing this issue.
It is possible that the network connection is unstable. Ensure that the network connection is stable, which can be improved by replacing the wireless connection with a wired connection.
If the situation occurs subsequently, it is recommended to reboot the device, connect the display, and go back to the connection to see the status.
