Nas-kit: unable to get e-ink display to work

Happy new year @ all!

Since sunday I’m trying to get the e-ink display to work, but no avail.
I’ve setup the entire decive a brand new raspi 4 mod 4 with 8GB RAM several times, uncluding reformatting the sd-card, reinstalling Raspberry OI OS lite 64 bit with Raspberry Pi imager.
after installing the OS I followed nas-kit installation on github.
To install OpenMadiaVault I followed the instructions OMV_7 raspberry pi install.
Raspi OS and OMV are both runnig fine, only the e-ink display is not working.
There are some issues reported: nas-kit issues, they’re pretty old though.

Any advice, tips or code will be appreciated!

You can take a look there, there’s steps to install with OMV. GitHub - sunfounder/nas-kit: SunFounder NAS Kit for Raspberry Pi

Also in issues section, closed, there’s something about OMV.

Thanks, but to this guide I’ve linked to in my first post. Still no avail.

Edit: Will try the solution mentioned in closed section. I’ve never had a look to the closed issues before.

@Weirdyguy Thank you for pointing to the closed issues. I’ve tried this one: https://github.com/sunfounder/nas-kit/issues/4#issuecomment-706300436. But it doesn’t work. I assume it’s something with the rpi.gpio module.
I don’t know what to do but I think sunfounder should take a look about this.

You have installed Raspberry OI OS lite 64 bit, is it a bookworm system or a bullseyee version.
The bookworm system is not compatible.
We recommend that you install the system shown in the picture.
Once the system is installed, follow the tutorial steps:

If possible, we suggest you provide us with a screenshot of the entire installation process so that we can help you analyze the problem.

Thank you for your assistance!
Everything is working well, Bookworm was the culprit. Problem solved!
Here’s what I did:
I reinstalled the entire system completely new. New sd-card, with Raspberry Pi OS (Legacy, 64-bit) Lite (Bullseye) written by Raspberry Pi Imager. Boot and OS installation without a problem.
Afterwards installation of NAS Kit, following the installation guide, you both have linked to (no, I wont provide the fourth link to it), by the letter without any problems.
E-ink display is working as provided.
At last I installed OMV also problem-free. System is up and running.
Since the whole setup was smoothly and without any problems and/or error reports, I didn’t provide any screenshots.

Again, thanks for the help!

Andreas

“How to mark the thread as solved?”

It doesn’t seem to have this feature, I’ll talk to the forum developers.
