I received the new 6 DOF IMU utility, installed it and it works well: balance, being picked up and the message sh3001 disappeared.
However I still have no sound.
I hoped that after installing the above mentioned utility, it should do it, but no.
So I have a new SD-card with raspberry PI Legacy 32 bit and I will install all the software again, hoping to have sound.
In case you have some advice…please let me known.
1.Please remove the robot-hat and check the back of the speaker to see if it is functioning properly. Another possible issue is that if a metal heatsink has been installed on the Raspberry Pi CPU, it may be pressing down on the speaker’s diaphragm, preventing it from producing sound.
2.Run the sound effect to check the operation:
cd ~/pidog/sounds
aplay -D plughw:2,0 angry.wav
If there are any errors when running it, it’s possible that the aplay process is already in use. In that case, please execute the sudo killall aplay command, then try running again:
cd ~/pidog/sounds
aplay -D plughw:2,0 angry.wav
Dear Moderator,
I checked the distance from the speaker to the raspberry PI, the flexible plastic video strap is between them
and I can freely move the white plastic video strap, so I think the speaker is free.
I mentioned allready that I bought a second pidog Hat, I removed the speaker with his two wires, cut them in the middle and hold a 1.5 V battery between them. I thougt to hear ‘some sound’, but no.
that speaker seemes not to be crushed.
Finally find hereby a printout of the cmd’s you send me.
I’am sorry not to have better news.
I have some experience with Linux Mint and trying to record with audacity and there was often a problem with ALSA.
Finally: isn’t it possible to have sound via the raspberry ?
With kindest regards, Ludo Nagels
You try to reinstall i2samp.sh:
cd ~/pidog
sudo bash i2samp.sh
After successful installation, reboot the Raspberry Pi.
Go ahead and run the following command again and see if it sounds properly as well:
cd ~/pidog/sounds
sudo aplay angry.wav
If you get any errors during the run, it is possible that the aplay process is already in use. In this case, run sudo killall aplay and try to run it again.
Tip: Whenever you run code, it must be preceded by sudo run.
We will send you a replacement robot hat.
Once you have received your new robot hat and installed it, it is recommended to reinstall i2samp.sh:
cd ~/pidog
sudo bash i2samp.sh
After successful installation, reboot the Raspberry Pi.
Tip: If the Raspberry Pi has a metal heatsink installed on the CPU, it may press down on the speaker diaphragm and prevent the speaker from producing sound.
It is recommended to remove the metal heat sink.
Thanks a lot for your action, I understand that I only have to reinstall the i2samp.sh for all the software is on the raspberry PI, and I will remove the metal heat sink from the CPU.
All the connections to the robot hat are numbered (when I installed the second robot hat), I did this for avoiding mistakes, but now I check each connection two times.
I will let you know as soon as I can.
The replacement robot hat was arranged.
Up to now I received 2 mails from DHL on which I should respond.
They are marked as spam, and I daren’t open them: the Email-adress from the latest sender is very suspicious.
Can you give me some advice ?
