I finished building my Pro Max case. If I try to access via VNC, I do not have any menus. I’ve tried the built-in VNC server, TightVNC, RealVNC, and TigerVNC, all with the same results. I’ve tried scaling the display resolution down and up with no effect.
This is a feature of the Raspberry Pi OS desktop. The system displays the menu bar on only one screen by default. In the case of the Pironman 5 Pro Max, the menu bar is set to appear on the 4.3‑inch DSI screen.
If you would like the menu bar to appear on another screen (for example, on your VNC session), please try the following:
Go to Display Settings and disable the DSI screen temporarily. The other screen will then automatically become the primary display and show the menu bar.
After confirming the menu bar appears where you want it, you can re‑enable the DSI screen.
This should resolve the issue without requiring third‑party VNC software changes.
