Pironman 5 Pro Max 4.3" LCD screen not working

I’ve just built the case, and installed a fresh copy of Raspbian Trixy on an SD Card. I booted up the Pironman 5 Pro Max, then ssh to it to run the installer from your documentation here. Set Up on Raspberry Pi/Ubuntu/Kali/Homebridge OS — SunFounder Pironman 5 documentation I now get a Dashboard, fans, LED lights and the OLED display all work. I just can’t seem to figure out how to get the 4.3” LCD to power up, it’s just blank. I haven’t tried the camera yet either. I don’t have anything plugged into the HDMI ports. I’ve reseated the ribbon cable, and verified it is facing the correct way. The metal strips are on the opposite side from the plastic clip on both the Pi and the screen. I’m not sure if it matters, but i did change the jumper on the HDMI/USB board from On to Auto, and back. I’ve also formatted the SD card and started over from scratch. Am I missing some drivers, or overlays or something for this screen? Thanks for your help!

Thank you very much for providing such detailed information.

Based on your description, other functions of the Pironman 5 Pro Max (Dashboard, Fan, RGB LED, OLED) are working normally, so the system installation and software configuration should be correct.

Regarding the 4.3-inch LCD screen, it should be noted that this screen uses a DSI interface, so it is plug-and-play and does not require additional driver installation. As long as the system detects the DSI screen, it should automatically light up during boot.

Additionally, you mentioned adjusting the jumper (ON/AUTO) on the HDMI/USB board. This jumper is only used to control the speaker audio output behavior and has no relation to the screen display, so it will not affect whether the LCD lights up.

If the screen remains black, it is usually related to the following points:

Whether the correct FPC cable is used
The kit includes 3 types of FPC cables, all marked in the list. It’s possible you used the camera’s FPC cable to connect the 4.3-inch screen. The FPC cable for the 4.3-inch screen is reverse (check the direction of the black plastic tab) and short. In contrast, the camera’s FPC cables are two same-direction cables and are long.

Whether the ribbon cable is fully inserted
Please double-check that the ribbon cable is fully inserted into the interface and that the latch is pressed down securely.

To further confirm whether the system detects the screen, please run the following command in SSH and send us the output:
sudo dmesg | grep -i dsi
If the system detects the screen, this command will typically display information related to the DSI display device.

Thank you! It was the cable. The cable is labeled with DSI, but I missed that. I just assumed both long camera cables were to be plugged in. Thank you for your help, this thing is pretty awesome!
