Installed the RasPad keyboard per the instructions. When activated the keyboard steps thru the letters on the keyboard, when trying to type it may not enter the key stroke. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there an alternate keyboard that works?

What system are you currently using, and what is the version?
The Bookworm version of the operating system is not compatible with installing the virtual keyboard.
Suggest you using the legacy version of the Raspberry Pi operating system to install the virtual keyboard.
Yes, If you would like to use a virtual keyboard, I would suggest installing a legacy version of the operating system.
Alternatively, you could consider using the Ubuntu operating system, as it comes with a built-in virtual keyboard feature.
