I purchased a Pi5 in December 2024 and installed Ubuntu 24.04 server using it as web server (apache, mysql, php) and mail server (postfix, dovecot). The Pi5 has run 24/7 and functioned flawlessly since then, albeit without the OLED screen and RGB fans always on, until recently when one RBG fan became quite noisy. A good clean fixed the noisy RBG fan, but for the first time since Dec 2024 I re-visited the SunFounder website and found that the Pironman5 software had advanced considerably … Installing/ updating the Pironman5 software/ module was really worthwhile - I now have an OLED screen monitoring real time system data including temperature, and control over the PWM and RGB fans which are now programmed to spin only when temperature exceeds 50 C (infrequently occurs).
Key message: Keep a watch on the SunFounder website for software updates/ install logs.
