Connecting iPhone with EzBlock Studio to Pi 3B

Hi there,

I tried to connect EzBlock Studio with

my Raspberry PiCar-X.

It does not work. Bluetooth and Wifi

are correct, but connection fails.

What do i do wrong?

To help you set up your PiCar-X with EzBlock, please follow the steps below:

  1. Download and Install the EzBlock OS Image
Download the image package using the provided link:
    Microsoft OneDrive

Extract the downloaded file to obtain the image file:
Raspios-buster-armhf-lite-2021-1-11_EzBlockOS-v1.2.3.img

Flash this image onto your SD card using a tool like Raspberry Pi Imager or Etcher.

  1. Boot and Connect Your PiCar-X
Insert the flashed SD card into your PiCar-X and power it on.

Wait for the Robot HAT indicator light to blink, indicating a successful startup.

Open the EzBlock Studio app on your mobile device (phone or tablet).

  1. Enable Permissions on Your Mobile Device
Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are turned on.

Grant the EzBlock Studio app the necessary location/permissions to discover and connect to your PiCar-X.

  1. Important Connection Checks
Verify that the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password you entered match exactly those of your router (case-sensitive and special characters matter).

For a detailed connection tutorial, refer to:
https://docs.sunfounder.com/projects/ezblock3/en/latest/quick_guide_3.2/connect_product_ezblock.html

  1. If Issues Persist
Record a short video of the connection process and any error messages.

Provide the following details:

Brand and model of your mobile device

Operating system version (e.g., iOS 17.3, Android 14)

EzBlock Studio app version

We hope this helps you get started smoothly.

Ok.

I flash the img onto my SD card and put it into my PiCar-X and powerd it on.

It needs a raspberrypi login.

What login do i need?

On my mobile the PiCar-X is shown as Bluetooth Search Results.

Trying to connect fails

You do not need to log into the command line terminal of the system image.

After installing the Ezblock OS image onto your SD card, insert it into the Raspberry Pi and power on your Picar-X. Once you see the indicator light blinking on the Robot HAT, it means the system has booted successfully.

Please follow these steps to connect via the app:

On your mobile phone, go to Bluetooth Settings and “Forget” or remove any previously saved Bluetooth pairing records for your device.

Then, open the Picar-X App and try to connect to your product.

Important: When the app requests permissions (such as for Bluetooth or location), please tap “Allow” to ensure a normal connection and operation.

Please try these steps and let us know if it works!

Thank you. I followed your steps and now it works propperly.
Thanks for your pathience with me.
Now just one item.
When the picar starts, the right motor turns backwords. It stops when i press the zero button.
What could be the problem you think?

It is recommended to provide a video of the issue for our review, which will help us analyze and resolve the problem for you.

Additionally, what is the current version of your ezblock OS image? We suggest updating the version to 1.2.5 and then reconnecting to check if the motor rotation direction is consistent. You can click the product connection icon to view the version number.

You are using the EZBlock OS image system version 1.2.3. After successfully connecting to the app, a pop-up window will prompt you to update the firmware.

Please update the EZBlock OS image to the latest version, which should be version 1.2.5.

After updating, please check again to confirm whether it can work properly.
