Fairly 'quirky' set up - advice needed re HDMI to DP output

Hi all.

So, i got my first Pi 5 and Pironman 5 for Christmas (i’ve previously posted re the shape of heaksink - that reminds me, i need to put an update on that thread as to whats happened, in case anyone else falls on it having similar thoughts to what i had)

I then got a second Pironman 5.

Current (or ideal set up) is:
Pironman 5 with Pi 5 8gb, 500gb Crucial NVME m.2
Pironman 5 with Pi 5 4gb, 500gb Crucial NVME m.2
Philips 40" ultrawide monitor with built in KVM (model number is 40B1U5600), which has HDMI, DP and USB-c for video in.

The monitor offers Picture in Picture and Picture by Picture, ideally i want to set up PBP, where one half of screen is 4gb Pi and other half of screen in the 8gb Pi.
I have one of the Pi’s connected to the monitor via HDMI (male) to HDM (male) - So HDMI port in monitor is in use, leaving DP and USB-c. I’ve had issues with USB-c in the past (this monitor seems sooooo bloody particular as to what leads and adapters it will work with), so i was hoping to make use of the DP port in the monitor.

I’m guessing no one has similar experience of tihs set up??? joking.
I’ve been in touch with Philips and the only advice they could provide was to take the two pis into a local pc shop and try different options? which seems a bit of a longshot (that they would have that monitor in, and cheeky. so ive been doing some reading and embaressed to admit, i hadn’t even realised that there was a directional consideration eg HDMi to DP is not the same as DP to HDMI. A quick amazon search made me realise by searching on HDMI to DP, most of the results are actually DP to HDMI, there were few listed as HDMI to DP (and they seemed to get low star ratings and also had an additional USB lead for power. Then that opened the whole ‘passive’ and ‘active’ adapter rabbit hole. Then HDCP cropped up and max resolutions and frequencies! I’m now totally lost.

The manual for monitor gives the following info:

Please notice that your display works
best at native resolution of 3440
x 1440 @ 60Hz. For best display
quality, please follow this resolution
recommendation. Recommended
resolution HDMI 2.0/DP/USB C:3440
x 1440 @ 60Hz If your display is
not on the native resolution when
connecting to USB C or DP port,
please adjust resolution to the
optimal state: 3440 x 1440 @60 Hz
from your PC.
2. The factory default setting HDMI

1440 @ 60Hz.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

UPDATE - resolved this.

I thought it was going to be exoensive as there is so little choice. I got a cable from Amazon, HDM is converted to DP, there is also USB A for power. It was around £18.

I initially throught it wasn’t going to work, i was unplugging leads then replugging in different orders, eventually after about 15 mins it worked, but i cant for the life of me, confirm that i did different to get it to finally work.
