I bought my son a PiCar-X for Christmas and have been struggling trying to get the camera to work. Customer service has sent me a replacement ribbon cable and camera and still, not working. I have reinstalled my RasPi’s software and all modules. I have reconnected everything over and over again. This is becoming very frustrating, and even though customer service has tried, they cant seem to help me. Has anyone had this issue with a Rapberry Pi 5? Please see screenshot of the error I’m receiving when I execute the libcamera-hello command. Again, a replacement camera and ribbon cable has been used with no result. I am 100% sure that everything is connected correctly.
I have the same problem. Once in a while I can get it to work after re-seating both ends of the cable but then it stops working after using the pan/tilt function.
I think the camera is pretty cheap.
It is recommended that you provide us with a camera wiring picture.
The camera we reissued has been tested and verified.
Confirm the wiring, and the lens on the module has a pin header that also needs to be connected to the camera module, please pay attention.
libcamera-hello Test the camera and check the print information.
I have done all of this several times! Your camera not work with Raspberry Pi 5.
After you reinstall the camera wiring, the camera can work normally. This means the camera is working normally. When the head servo is working, the camera stops working? This means that when the head is working, it hits the FPC cable, causing the cable to have poor contact or fall off, and the camera stops working. Please sort out the wire sequence.
Have you reinstalled the camera, wired it correctly, but are still having trouble getting the camera to work?
If so, we will send you a new camera module to see if that resolves the issue.
