I received my PiPower 5 today and when reading through the instructions I see it mentions several times that the battery has 3 wires (+ve, -ve and a centre tap), and the plug on the board has three terminals.
The manual in section 3.3 “Power Inout” mentions “Charge Balancing”.
My battery only has two wires and the plug on the PiPower 5 board only has two terminals.
Has anyone got three or did Sunfounder change their mind about charge balancing and forget to alter all the documentation?
It appears to work well and installation was easy (although I had to do some stand-off juggling as I have an NVMe board under my RPi5).
The Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ is not compatible for assembly inside the Pironman 5 case. This is because the AI accelerator is built into the HAT+, and the entire Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ unit is incompatible with the case structure.
We recommend choosing the Raspberry Pi AI Kit instead. The Raspberry Pi AI Kit bundles a Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ with a Hailo AI acceleration module. The Hailo AI module can be removed from the M.2 HAT+ and then assembled and connected to work with the MAX case.
Specifically:
The Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ itself cannot be assembled inside the case.
However, the Hailo AI acceleration module (from the AI Kit) can be inserted into the Pironman5’s NVMe PIP module to function properly.
