Potential Battery Mismatch

Hello.

A student was building a Picar-X 2.0 kit and found that the battery in their kit had a 5-pin connector while their Robot HAT only supported 3-pin. Are the kits transitioning to new connectors on either the HAT or the battery?

My student cannot continue until this is resolved.

Robot hat v4 uses a 5 wire system, my pidog has one, so i can confirm this.

Robot hat v5 uses a 3 wire system. This is based on the sales pages.

So it looks like you may have a v4 battery and a v5 hat. AFAIK picar uses all v4, but Sunfounder update their products regularly to the latest variants, so best to await their reply before deciding how best to proceed.

Interesting. The board is listed as v4 and has the 3-pin connector. The battery ended up being 5-pin though. I will wait for their response but thanks for the help!

I don’t know which time zone you are on, but I’d suggest taking photos of both the connectors, battery and hat, such that sunfounder can get onto the correct solution ASAP.

Good tip thank you!

The PiCar-X V2.0 is designed to use a 3P battery, and receiving a 5P battery is indeed due to a configuration mistake on our end.

We will immediately arrange to send you the correct 3P battery.
