Pironman 5 MAX not working at all

Hello everyone!

I recently bought a Pironman 5 MAX case along with a power supply (also from Sunfounder).
After I had everything assembled, I tried to turn on the computer in the case, and there was no response. No LEDs or fans activated, and nothing happened on the screen.

Of course, I strictly followed the assembly instructions (a paper poster and a YouTube video), handled all the parts carefully, and double-checked that everything was connected correctly.

I also found a suggestion in the forum to plug the power supply in the other way around (i.e., flip the connector), but that didn’t help.

Does anyone have any advice on what I could do?

Thanks for reading &
Best regards,
René

Please provide a video of the issue to help us analyze and solve the problem.

Please confirm that all components are assembled correctly.

Refer to our FAQ guide for troubleshooting:

This issue may be caused by a system update, boot order change, or corrupted bootloader. Try the following steps:

Check the USB-HDMI Adapter Connection

Ensure the USB-HDMI adapter is firmly connected to the Pi 5.

Unplug and reconnect the adapter, then power on to see if the Pi 5 boots successfully.

Test the Pi 5 Outside the Case

Remove the Pi 5 from the Pironman 5 case.

Power it directly with the adapter (without the case) and check if it boots normally.

Recover the Bootloader

If the Pi 5 still doesn’t boot, the bootloader may be corrupted.

Follow the guide to update the bootloader and select the boot device (SD card or NVMe/USB).

Insert a prepared SD card, power on, and wait at least 10 seconds for recovery.

After recovery, remove and reformat the SD card.

Use Raspberry Pi Imager to flash the latest Raspberry Pi OS, reinsert the card, and try booting again.

Hello Moderators, hello everyone,

I reassured, that everything is in place, I’m pretty convinced, that the Pironman is assembled correctly. The only thing, you would see in a provided video, would be a Pironman showing no reaction by pushing the power button at all. No fans, no nothing, no lights anywhere.

At this point I give up, it seems that it won’t work for me… :frowning:

Thanks for your support and for deliviering the spare USB/HDMI adapter!

Best regards,
René

To verify if the adapter is causing the problem, please follow the steps below:

First, please reconnect the USB-HDMI adapter. Ensure it is fully and securely inserted into the Pi 5’s port. Then, try starting the system again to see if it boots up normally.

If the system still fails to start, please remove the USB-HDMI adapter completely. Then, connect only the power supply to the Pi 5 and attempt to start it.

Result Interpretation: If the system starts successfully without the adapter, it indicates that the USB-HDMI adapter may be faulty.
