Hello! i have been working on a pi car x, it is the older version with the toggle switch instead of the usb c. The robot hat does not seem to turn on, i tried charging the battery, reinstalling all the code, checking the wiring (i did not build this a previous student did) but the servos still do not work. The motors make noise but dont move. What can i do?
Thank you for your post. Regarding the problem you’re experiencing with the PiCar-X not working properly, we have a preliminary thought.
We offer two versions of the PiCar-X: the older version and the newer V2.0 version. It’s important to know that their library files are not interchangeable. We suspect that you might have installed the incorrect library version for your specific model.

The most noticeable difference between the two is the Robot HAT:
The V2.0 version has a longer HAT with the speaker located on top.
The older version has a shorter HAT, and the speaker is hidden underneath it.
Could you please confirm which version of the PiCar-X you have? A photo of your Robot HAT would be very helpful for us to identify it correctly.

Hi! I’d gotten the right documentation from you guys already for the older version that I had after which I reinstalled the OS and the code again. It did not work. This is what I have (took this picture from Google) but as you can see it has a green light on. Mine does not.
