UPS Not Providing Enough Power

Hi.
I use the Sunfounder UPS on my PI 4 to run Openhab. My system reports: Your Pi’s power supply or cable is not good enough to supply power without an under-voltage event occurring.

I plugged directly into my 120 volt power supply to correct the issue. My question is do I need new 18650 batteries to solve this. Does anyone know?

Thanks
Oakguy

Please provide the Pipower version picture to us.
What specification power supply you are using, the low voltage encountered in the case of insufficient tips, it is recommended that the problem video provided to us.
We suggest you use the official power supply of Raspberry Pi.

It appears to be Module V2.0. The box is dated 2021 11. 30. When I plug it into the power supply, now all the lights blink. Are my batteries shot? All the charging lights and the Charge light blink rapidly. Will this device power a raspberry pi 5?

It is recommended that you provide us with the problem video so that we can help you analyze and solve the problem.
pipower V2 is not compatible with PI5.
Use a multimeter to measure the voltage. What is the voltage before and after charging?

Here is a video of the blinking. It is only blinking and even replacing the rechargable batteries with new ones did not make a difference. I’m using the same power adapter you shipped with the Picar-x. I do realize that this UPS is not compatable with a RPi 5.

Thanks you,
Guy

Your pipower is not V2 version, it is the earliest version, and we have stopped production.
From the video you provided.

  1. It may be insufficiently fixed. It is recommended to use the official 5V 3A power supply of Raspberry Pi.
  2. It may be that your battery does not contact well with the battery holder of pipower.
Is your battery a flat-head battery? It is recommended to use a button-type battery so that the battery can contact perfectly with the battery holder.
Also, this version of pipower is not compatible with PI5.

Yes, I have the button type batteries. It blinks like that with the original batteries as well. I will purchase an official power supply. Thank you

Did this issue with your PiPower begin immediately upon receipt, or did it develop after a period of use?

Please try connecting the battery to the PiPower connector without connecting the external power supply. Ensure correct polarity (+ and -).

After connecting the battery, turn the power switch on and check if it functions normally.
