Crucial P310 PCIe Gen4 M.2 - Compatible?

New here and been fighting this all day.

Turns out my 1TB Crucial P310 PCIe Gen4 M.2 does not work inside the PiMon5 Max case but will via USB / NVMe Enclosure. Which beats the objective really.

Had an old Sandisk 256GB NVMe laying around to test and this works inside the case.

Reluctant to spend anymore money to get this working, but I need at least 1TB.

Based on your description, it is possible that the Crucial P310 PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD is not compatible and cannot be recognized by the Pi 5.

You may try connecting the SSD to the Pi 5 via a USB/NVMe external enclosure using the USB interface to see if it can be detected and function properly.

Please remove both the SD card and the SSD from the NVMe PIP module, then connect the SSD to the Pi 5’s USB port via a USB/NVMe external enclosure to check if it can be recognized and work correctly. Please ensure that the Crucial P310 PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD has an operating system installed.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

Yes as above, tried that. It works.

What I’m looking for is confidence in purchasing a new NVMe drive that will work inside the case.

Thanks
