Detach and move Speaker from Robot Hat (for PiDog V1)?

Hi all,

I recently purchased the PiDog (on 14th of june but unfortunately still V1 … I already switched to an old 3B to mitigate the frequent shutdowns with a Pi5 due to high power draw) and was wondering, if it is OK (without causing damage in the process) to move the speaker from underneath the board to somewhere else, to reattach my heatsink?

I wiggled it already a little but it seemed fairly firmly glued/screwed in place.

Can I use a plastic spatula or loosen it by rotation to carefully detach the speaker from the underside of the board?

Best,
Samuel

As an alternative: My pidog kit fortunately contained spare risers. So I used these and an interconnector to increase the gap

I had the interconnector already, but I think it was only about $3

SPF650 is correct. You can purchase a GPIO connector on Amazon, connect it to the Raspberry Pi, and then connect it to the robot hat. This will create more space between the Raspberry Pi and the robot hat, allowing room for a heatsink on the Raspberry Pi chip.

We have various nylon standoffs available for stacking height.

The approximate specifications are:
2.54mm pitch 2x20P, plastic height 11mm, pin length 12.2mm.

I ended up doing this and it is working fine. thanks a lot for the advice! Best
