Hi!
Wanted to reach out to the forum regarding an issue that I seem to be facing with the galaxyrvr. For context, I received the kit a few months back and had been able to build and operate it using both the sunfounder app as well as some small arduino code that I had coded myself. I wanted to start working on it again, but now am unable to get the wifi to show up to be able to connect it to the app/phone controller.
I went through the instructions and I believe I was able to re-flash it to the original code, (link to the instructions that I had followed - Update Firmware — SunFounder GalaxyRVR Kit for Arduino 1.0 documentation )
But I am not able to update the ESP32 camera firmware. Additionally, when I do set it to “run” mode and press the reset button, I just get a constant orange/yellow light and I’m not able to get it to the blue flashing light that the instructions say. (picture attached)
Our GalaxyRVR has recently been updated (from version 1.2.0 to version 2.0.0). This may have caused some version compatibility issues if the firmware was not updated in the correct order.May I ask: Did you update the UNO R3 firmware without first updating the ESP32‑CAM firmware? If so, please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
Step 1 – Roll back the UNO R3 firmware to the previous version.Follow the V1 documentation to revert the UNO R3 board:
FAQ — SunFounder GalaxyRVR Kit for Arduino 1.0 documentation
Step 2 – Update firmware again in the correct order. Now follow the new version documentation to update ESP32‑CAM first, then UNO R3:
Update Firmware (New Version) – ESP32‑CAM → UNO R3
Once both updates are completed in the correct order, your GalaxyRVR should start broadcasting its Wi‑Fi hotspot again and be ready to go.
If you still encounter issues, please let us know and provide a photo showing the issue.
Hi,
Yes I did try updating the UNO R3 firmware first.
Thank you for the help I will try this and post the results back here!
I’m glad to hear that everything is sorted out. Best of luck with your GalaxyRVR – and feel free to reach out anytime if you need further assistance.
