HDMI flickering

Hi. I recieved my piroman 5 a few days ago, and assembled it no problem. However, after a few days the bottom HDMI started to flicker slighty but the settled down. A day later the same thing happened but this time it was a bad constant heavy flickering. So i shut down and tried again but still flickering, so I connected to 2nd HDMI port and the flickering stopped. I was wondering what could cause this?

Is the screen flickering? We recommend that you provide us with a video of the issue so that we can analyze and resolve it.

Here are 1 videos, flickering on bottom HDMI, no flickering on top HDMI.

Different scenario today. When booting from nvme I get the pi loading screen saying booting from nvme and screen is now blank on both hdmi. The green pow light the goes off but the green light on nvme stays on. A short while later the red light on nvme comes on beside green light, and the green power button comes back on for a few seconds and goes off again but does give a flicker here and ther like something is going to happen but nothing does. Funny how it was working on top hdmi yesterday from nvme.

so I then set to boot from sd card and pi os loaded no problem and recognised nvme drive. Then tried android from usb and again success. So blank screen is on nvme boot?

  1. What specifications does your current power adapter have? Please provide a picture of the power adapter.
2.Please ensure that the SSD has the system installed, then remove the SD card and try to boot the system from the SSD to see if it starts normally.
3.If you are using the official power supply for the PI5 or a third-party 5V 5A power supply, we will send you a new USB-HDMI adapter to see if it resolves the screen flickering issue.

The SSD has the system installed as you can see from the flicker video, i was using it for 2 days prior to the no picture.

update: I did some research and found the flickering and blank screen on Android (on nvme) is to do with the resolution and live streaming apps, which seem to try and change resolutions on the fly. It also happenens on Downloader app but the rest of the apps like PLEX seem ok.The defaut resoltion on android is 1080 which you can alter in config or delete resoltion text file. SO ran Android tv from usb thumb drive and sata hdd with usb 3 adaptor and no flickering at all on anything. It appears it has nothing to do with usb-hdmi adaptor or nvme hat.

This should be a compatibility issue between the PI5 and the Android system. We recommend that you consult professionals on the official Raspberry Pi forum to seek the best solution. Our Pironman5 features are not compatible with the Android system, so if you want to use Pironman5’s functionalities, it is not advisable to use Android.

Yes I know. I just wanted to let you know my findings and concur it is not your USB-HDMI adaptor at fault so no replacement needed. I hope this helps others having similar issues. PI OS boots no problems with NVME and Piroman 5. Thank you for your help and understanding in this matter.

thank you very much for your ideas.
