Help Sync GalaxyRVR Shield!

My son and I have been working on building the GalaxyRVR over the past few months. He’s finally finished it and is really excited to get it running—but we’re currently stuck trying to get it to sync with the remote/iPad.

In the Quick Play with APP section of the guide (link here), it says:

“To activate the ESP32-CAM, move the mode switch to the Run position, and press the Reset button to reboot the R3 board. You will then observe a cyan light flashing on the bottom strip.”

We’re not sure how to tell which position is considered “Run” on the mode switch. Also, we’re not seeing any lights turn on at all—even though the battery is fully charged. We’ve double-checked the LED connections multiple times, but still no luck.

Are these boards supposed to come preloaded with code? Could we be missing a step? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

Please provide us with the problem video so that we can help you analyze and solve the problem.

  1. Is the battery correctly connected to the expansion board and turned on to power it?
    It is recommended to use a multimeter to measure the battery voltage.
  2. The mode switch is in the “Run” position when it is facing you, and in the “Upload” position when it is facing the opposite direction.
  3. Yes. We have pre-installed the firmware and code. After you assemble it successfully, you can use the APP to connect and work.
    The premise is that all your hardware is assembled correctly. Please watch our assembly video:
