Is the PiCar-X compatible with Raspberry PI 4 and the lastest OS ?
I have had success using the Raspberry Pi 4 but when I did some testing just to see if it was possible to use the latest OS I ran into a lot of issues. It could probably be done but it would be a lot of unnecessary work.
I run the Picar-x on a Raspberry Pi 4B with Buster. I have no problems, everything works.
Buster is no longer the newest version of Raspberry Pi OS. Bullseye came out and my understanding is that it changed some stuff under the hood that messes with some of the dependencies. It might still work but it is definitely recommended to stick to the Legacy version for now.
Many thanks for your answers !
Can PiCar-X be used with other Raspberry Pi models (3A, Zero, etc.)? It’s very difficult to find B versions these days
- Picar-x is compatible with Raspberry Pi 4 and bullseye system.
- Raspberry Pi 3A, we do not have this board and have not tested it, but the CPU and gpio interfaces are the same and should be compatible.
Thanks for the answer!
