We have shipped you a replacement NVMe PIP module that has been tested and verified.

Please replace the current FPC cable you are using and check if the SSD is recognized normally.

We need to confirm if your FPC cable is connected correctly. We suggest providing clear photos of the wiring for us to review.

After installing the system on the SSD, please connect it to the NVMe PIP module, then remove the SD card and start the chassis to see if the system boots from the SSD.

You can also try replacing the FPC cable of the max chassis with the FPC cable from the pironman5 chassis, and check how the recognition and functionality work.

I am having this same problem.

Have FPC Cable connected properly and have config file set to this

Uncomment some or all of these to enable the optional hardware interfaces

#dtparam=i2c_arm=on
#dtparam=i2s=on
#dtparam=spi=on
dtparam=pciex1
dtparam=pciex1_gen=3

Enable audio (loads snd_bcm2835)

dtparam=audio=on

Additional overlays and parameters are documented

/boot/firmware/overlays/README

Automatically load overlays for detected cameras

camera_auto_detect=1

Automatically load overlays for detected DSI displays

display_auto_detect=1

Automatically load initramfs files, if found

auto_initramfs=1

Enable DRM VC4 V3D driver

dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d
max_framebuffers=2

Don’t have the firmware create an initial video= setting in cmdline.txt.

Use the kernel’s default instead.

disable_fw_kms_setup=1

Run in 64-bit mode

arm_64bit=1

Disable compensation for displays with overscan

disable_overscan=1

Run as fast as firmware / board allows

arm_boost=1

[cm4]

Enable host mode on the 2711 built-in XHCI USB controller.

This line should be removed if the legacy DWC2 controller is required

(e.g. for USB device mode) or if USB support is not required.

otg_mode=1

[cm5]
dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=host

Please help me.

Using an ADATA Swordfish 1TB NVMe.

Our Dual NVMe PIP module does not support PCIe Gen 3.

Therefore, configuring dtparam=pciex1_gen=3 will not have any effect.

Please verify the issue by following the steps in our FAQ solution:

Please follow the five points explained in the linked instructions and let us know the verification results. This will help us analyze and resolve the issue for you.

I removed the dtparam=pciex1_gen=3 that did nothing. The rpi 5 is not seeing the chipset on the NVMe PIP module. I followed what you sent and tried this ADATA Swordfish, SK Hynix, and an Intel 660P NVMe. Nothing.

Please contact us via service@sunfounder.com, provide your address, and we will arrange to send you a replacement Dual NVMe PIP module and FPC ribbon cable.
