The os (bookworm) sees the resolution of my Raspad 3 screen as 1024x768, which is a 4:3 aspect ratio, but the screen is wide so everything is stretched. I think the screen resolution should be 1280x800, right? I’ve tried to fix this by editing both cmdline.txt and ~/.config/wayfire.ini but neither has any effect on the display settings in X11 or Wayland—they only offer 1024x768 or lower resolutions. Do you have any advice for me?
Yes,the screen resolution should be 1280x800.

I have isolated the problem to the primary HDMI cable. If I use the shorter cable in its place, then the display reports correct resolutions. But then the RPi can’t be screwed down because the working cable is too short to reach the primary HDMI port on the RPi. Perhaps I can live with using the secondary HDMI port. In any case, I think this longer HDMI cable must be defective.
Here is the output of xrandr using the shorter cable to connect to the Raspad display.
guy@turnip:~ $ DISPLAY=:0 xrandr
