Speaker not working on PiDog V2 with RobotHat+ 5

I can’t seem to get the speaker to work on the pidog v2 with the robothat+ 5. I’ve followed the tutorial by running sudo bash i2samp.sh and running robot_hat enable_speaker, but I have not been able to get sound to work. The speaker does not appear damaged and is not pressing against any heat sinks on the pi. I’m using a Raspberry Pi 3B+ with the newest Debian Trixie release. Any help would be appreciated!

Please try running the TTS example from this lesson to see if the speaker works or if any error messages appear:

If you still do not hear any sound, please take a top‑down photo of your PiDog while it is powered on and share it with us. This will help us check the wiring connections and LED indicators to identify whether the issue is with the software or the hardware.

If we confirm that the hardware is faulty, we will arrange a replacement for you.

So running the Espeak test I get the following error:
2026-07-22 17:35:25.905539046 [W:onnxruntime:Default, device_discovery.cc:283 GetGpuDevices] Failed to detect devices under “/sys/class/drm/card0”: device_discovery.cc:93 ReadFileContents Failed to open file: “/sys/class/drm/card0/device/vendor”

And running the pico2wave gives this:
2026-07-22 17:37:33.789375403 [W:onnxruntime:Default, device_discovery.cc:283 GetGpuDevices] Failed to detect devices under “/sys/class/drm/card0”: device_discovery.cc:93 ReadFileContents Failed to open file: “/sys/class/drm/card0/device/vendor”

I’ve attached a top-down picture of the board with the speaker
