Just started building the Galaxy RVR kit and all was seemingly well. But after connecting the battery and a USB charger it never charged the battery. I connected the battery without external power and never got the board to light up after switching on power to the Shield. Looking at posts here blinking red charging indicator means it is not charging, which is the issue I had. Tried charging for many hours. I then disconnected everything and tried to check the voltages coming from the battery to the board with a multimeter. Got some readings of 6.8v and 2.3v and 4.1v and then the battery started smoking… Ran outside and put the battery in a steel bucket.
So the battery is 100% dead. But is my Shield ok? If I connect it now I get the exact same blinking as I did before. Red Charging indicator is blinking with 1000ms delay and the D5 and D6 indicators are slowly blinking (something like a 5000ms delay).
I’m a total novice at this but would love some help! And how can I get replacement parts?
