Is there a way to properly uninstall Pironman5 software instead formatting and all reinstall raspios?
Yes. See my previous reply. Open File Manager as root. (“sudo pcmanfm”) and then search for all instances of “pironman5”. This will also bring up folders. Select all in the window (including the folders) and then delete. Reboot and then re-install Pironman5 in the normal way…
Thank you CPN200, it works. But for how long…
We are using Google Chrome to access the dashboard.
Sorry there is no uninstallation command for the pironman5 software.
The method is as CPN200 mentioned: manually delete the pironman5 software folder.
Alternatively, you can delete it using the following commands:
cd ~
sudo rm -rf pironman5
Then, follow the tutorial link to reinstall the pironman5 software.
Odd… everything was working “Great” for last 6 weeks and then the following

Any ideas on what to do here? Thank you!
Recently, the system has been updated, and our Pironman5 software also has a new update. Therefore, we recommend that you reinstall the Pironman5 software and then proceed with the verification. If you encounter any issues, please contact us.
The update installation commands are as follows:
cd ~/pironman5
git pull
sudo python3 install.py
Alternatively, you can reinstall the operating system and then follow the tutorial steps to install the Pironman5 software before proceeding with the verification.
https://docs.sunfounder.com/projects/pironman5/en/latest/set_up/set_up_rpi_os.html
That’s all very fine and it got the system (sort of) working again but now, although the dashboard comes up correctly, it seems to be frozen in time and is not updating in real time. Which interfaces on the Pi5 should be up/down for the Pironman5 software to function correctly? In other words, are there any conflicts that we should know about?
The Pironman5 software needs to be a little more “robust” to avoid having to completely re-install a whole installation every time some small update breaks the system!
1.We recommend that you execute the command:
sudo systemctl restart pironman5.service
to restart the software service. Then, check the dashboard again to see if the freezing issue persists.
When you mention freezing, are you referring to the dashboard monitoring data freezing and not refreshing? Could you provide a video of the issue?
2.Thank you for your suggestion. If we update the software and you haven’t modified the software code, normally you just need to execute the update command to install the latest version.
The update installation command is as follows:
cd ~/pironman5
git pull
sudo python3 install.py
- I have tried the restart command and it makes no difference to the dashboard. (However, the fans and LEDs work correctly)
Yes, I am referring to the dashboard monitoring data freezing and not refreshing.
(see video link attached)
I have tried the update installation procedure and it makes no difference.
Update: I have also noticed that if you hover over any of the graphs’ curves and go to the right edge of the trace to look at the time stamp, the time is exactly the point where the copy was started from SD card to NVME. You should also have seen in the video that an error message comes up at the bottom left of the dashboard display when the service is restarted… “Request Error: TypeError: Failed to fetch” Also, the storage display still thinks the OS is running from the SD card when it isn’t.
@SunFounder_Moderator If I may make a suggestion, do a fresh install of Raspi OS on an SD card in a Pironman5 and then a fresh install of your Pironman5 software. Make sure that the dashboard is fully functional etc. Once the system is stable, use the built-in SD Card copier to copy the OS onto a blank NVME drive. Remove the SD card and reboot the system using the NVME drive and see if you can replicate the situation that I have?
I do not own a pironman5, but I have noticed a large number of issues on this forum when using nvme.
I’m starting to wonder if it’s possibly something stupid like an inadequate/marginal power supply. Some of the larger nvme drives can take a couple of amps or more particularly during write operations.
Just a thought.
This is not a power issue. I believe everyone is using a 5V 5A power supply. If a lower power supply is used, it may indeed lead to insufficient power, causing the system not to boot from the SSD. However, the issue with the CPN200 is that the SSD system and software can start normally; it’s just that when accessing the dashboard, there is no real-time monitoring data, and the data appears frozen.
Regarding the issue you encountered with the CPN200, we have reproduced it and resolved it. Please update the software and verify if the same problem persists.
cd ~/pironman5
git pull
sudo python3 install.py
@SunFounder_Moderator: I carried out the update, and I’m afraid it hasn’t fixed the problem! It has now messed up the installation on my SD card! (see photo)
It now comes up as “System” instead of “Auto”; again, it is frozen…
Is the dashboard data still unable to be monitored in real time? The screenshot you provided does not show the issue. We suggest that you send us a video of the problem to help us analyze and resolve it.
Sorry I don’t understand your meaning. Please describe it in detail.
Are you saying there is an issue with the memory section of the dashboard?
Note: When cloning the system software from the SD card to the SSD for booting, there’s a detail that can easily be overlooked. When cloning the SD card, remember to use the new partition UUID and check the box on the right side (as shown in the image).https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=364985
Correct. The graphs are frozen in time.
Of course it doesn’t! It’s a screnshot to impart something else!
There isn’t an email service that will allow the sending of a video greater than 10Mb in size and in any case, I already sent you the link to a video earlier in this thread which shows the error that comes up.
When I said " It has now messed up the installation on my SD card.", I meant that I tried doing your update to the installation on my SD card (as opposed to my NVME drive) and it created the same fault that happened when I updated my NVME that I described earlier. If you look at the screenshot I posted yesterday and particularly at the “Settings” window in the centre, you will see the word “System” between “Dark mode” and “Temperature Unit” settings. This was a change from the previous setup which showed the word “Auto”.
No.
There is no need to tell me this! I would have thought that by now you would have already realised that I am a very advanced user of these things! There was no need for that reminder!
1.Based on the video you provided earlier, there was an error after restarting the software. We recommend that you provide us with the log information highlighted in the screenshot to help us analyze and resolve the issue.
2.We have made modifications to the current dashboard layout and added some new features, which we will introduce in the tutorial later. Therefore, the previous dashboard layout is different from the current one, which may have caused some confusion. The term “Auto” has now been changed to “Auto.”
PMJI: Following, wanting to purchase but waiting for resolution.
I won’t be sending you this because in the end and much to my annoyance, I wiped my NVME drive and did a completely fresh install of the OS and the Pironman5 software. It’s working 100% just now…
