Pironman 5, M2 Sata not found Power Supply

Hello All,

I got a Pironman 5 with a RPi 5 8GB.
It runs fine, but the Kingston M2 Sata is not found by the latest official Raspian 64 Bit.

I guess i know already why, since the Rasbpian tells me, that the power supply is not able to deliver 5A @ 5V. I tried several USB-C adapters, including a 90W supply of a HP Elitebook. Sadly, I don’t have the official Piroman 5A supply (it’s on it’s way … delayed).

Just out of curiosity: Does the M2 Sata not run, if you don’t have the 5A supply? The Kingston was running on a Rpi4 without any issues…

Hello, Pironman5 is only compatible with nvme m.2 as you can see in the instructions.

This is my SSD:

Hmm … they are very specific about the types, so I guess this is not supported … (???)

Maybe it’s time to get a Samsung 980 PRO  and keep the Kingston with the PRi4

It is recommended that you choose an SSD from the list we provided.

The Pironman 5 only supports NVMe M.2 and is not compatible with SATA M.2.

Yea, thats why I want to go for a 980Pro

I hope it’s the correct one …

PS: I also just noticed, that the Kingston is a SATA SSD (connector with 2 notches) — sry, my bad

Just FYI, Samsung Pro 980 arrived → Works like a Charm with the Pironman 5

Home Assistant Backup from the RPi4 is installed, now I run the Core update to 2024.something (where the DB is updated to BIGINT) on my 70GB MariaDB
